Bread Pudding Recipe

Rocke and I were introduced to this decadent recipe at the annual Rotary BBQ when Maelyn Ritter, the Queen Anne Rotary President 2011-2012 brought it as her potluck contribution.  Check out our award winning chili from the same event at the link below.   We have modified it slightly to adjust to cooking at home, but there is a story behind this famous pudding.

Marjorie, a local Seattle restaurant, has somewhat of a “cult following” for the bread pudding.  Upon pastry chef, Manda Mangrai’s arrival in February 2005, they removed it from their regular menu so she could put her own “stamp” on this Marjorie dessert.  After experiencing somewhat of an uprising from their regular clientele, they reinstated the bread pudding’s proper place on the menu, and it is said this is the best they’ve ever had.

Tesla Model S - Motor Trend 2013 Car of the Year

Investing in new technology can be scary, but it was love at first sight when I saw the Model S and all reason went out the door.  It is nice to have confirmation that my belief in the technology and the three year wait was vindicated.    My new Tesla Model S that I have named Ruby, is everything I had hoped for and more.

She was named both Motor Trend’s Car of the year, as well as Automobile Magazine’s, and the positive press continues.

College Costs Continue to Outpace Inflation

Every October, the College Board releases its Trends in College Pricing report that highlights college cost increases for the current academic year along with trends in the world of higher education. The College Board publishes average cost figures, which are based on its survey of 3,500 colleges across the country.

Total average cost for 2012/2013 ranges from $22,261 to $43,289 depending on whether a student is attending an in-state Public college or a Private college.
